Committee Elections 2026
Nominations and voting are conducted by an internet-based procedure
While the nomination of candidates took place in the members’ area of the epi website from 13 May until 10 June 2026.
The elections will be conducted using a special online voting tool.
Online voting will start on 29 July 2026 and will end on 12 August 2026.
The election results, once declared by the CEC, will be submitted to Council for validation at the autumn Council meeting of the election year which is C103 in Bratislava on 21 November 2026.
How does the voting work?
Every full and every substitute member of the epi Council will be notified of the online voting by the external voting company and can vote for all Committees. However, among the full/substitute members of each constituency, only one vote will be counted.
In other words:
When a Full Member casts their vote, it is this vote that counts.
If a full member has previously delegated their vote to one of their constituency’s Substitute Member, the designated Substitute Member’s vote is the one that counts.
If one or more full members have not voted and not delegated the vote to anyone, the votes that are counted are the votes of the Substitute Members in the order of the number of votes received in the previous Council elections.

The composition of each committee is specific (e.g. in terms of minimum/maximum number of members, applicable national quota, etc.). The voting tool will guide through the relevant choices.
Voters can make their individual choice or follow the recommendations made by Council members, or constituencies as a whole unanimously, and Committee Chairs including the Chair of Disciplinary Committee for their committees. Any such preference will be published next to the candidate’s name in the list of nominations.

Deadlines for the Committees Election 2026
Nomination phase:
- The nomination process was open from 13 May 2026 to 10 June 2026. The publication of the final list of candidates for election will be released on 24 June 2026 at the latest.
- 10 June 2026 – Closing of the Nomination process24 June 2026 (at the latest) – Publication of final list of candidates for election
Election phase: All Council members are entitled to vote via online voting tool.
- Latest 8 July 2026 – Indication of preferred candidate (individuals or constituencies can indicate a candidate they prefer)
- 29 July 2026 – Start of online voting
- 12 August 2026 – Closure of voting
- 9 September 2026 – Publication of results
Objection phase: Objection can be raised
- 16 September 2026 – Deadline for objections
Validation: Validation of the election will take place at autumn Council meeting
- 21 November 2026 – At C103 validation of the results of the election
